James Douglas Harris II, 55, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky died Friday, August
2, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born October 27, 1963 in Clinton, Kentucky to James
Douglas Harris and Sandra Janiece Fraser.
He and Laura Dillon were married August 28, 2008 at Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
He was an AR Readiness Training Instructor, he was in the military reserves, and had been a member of the Cairo police department, and the FBI Drug Task Force. He
served two tours in Iraq during the Desert storm. He was also a proud member of the CVMA - Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
He served 37 yrs. in the Army, and had recently retired from the service.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Harris of Rineyville, Kentucky; mother, Sandra Lemons of Jackson, Missouri; one daughter, Janiece Carter of Woodbridge, Virginia; two
sons, James Harris III of Woodbridge, Virginia, William Harris of Woodbridge, Virginia; two sisters, Tammy (Fred) Elias of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Cheryl (Greg) Keith of Cape Girardeau, Missouri;
three brothers, Kevin (Tina) Harris of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Josh (Tess) Armstrong of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Ryan (Becca) Armstrong of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; one step-son, Josh Mayberry of
Greenville, Indiana; step-daughter, Tasha Mayberry of St. Louis, Missouri. Six Grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Visitation was held 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Service was held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with full military honors with the Rev. Jim Ellis
officiating.
