Homeless Veterans

If you are, or know of, any homeless veterans in the Kentucky area please know there are local resources available that may be able to provide immediate assistance to you and your families.  It is of great importance that no veteran should go without shelter or food.  

 

SHELTER:

One location that offers shelter for veterans is the Salvation Army Center of Hope in Louisville, Kentucky.  Their phone number is 502-671-4904.  They are located at 911 South Brook Street, Louisville, KY 40203.

FOOD:

Not necessarily a veteran only program, Warm Blessings in Elizabethtown, Kentucky is organized for the purpose of providing meals to hungry people with the vision to offer emergency shelter to people in crisis.  Their goal is to serve patrons with dignity and compassion.

 

Located at 609 E. Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  Hot meals are served Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.  Showers and use of the washer and dryer are available by appointment.  Meals are delivered on Monday and Thursday to seniors who are shut-in and frail due to age and illness.  They provide van pickup in limited areas.
